My first ever wrapped wreath....

I made my first ever wrapped wreath, and it was easier than I thought.  Lately, I haven't felt like I have had time to do anything especially anything crafty.  Nevertheless, yesterday I found my self so  driven to finish the wreath.  I just kinda started not knowing where I was going, I sat on the couch watching my husband and kiddos battle it out on the Wii.  While I was doing the wreath they were so surprised how fast I did it.... Me too.

I always see these beautiful wreaths on Etsy and on all the great crafty blogs, but wasn't sure if I could do it.  I am not saying I am on SUPER STAR STATUS--> but I think I can get there.  The project isn't that expensive either.

Yarn- 3.99
Foam Wreath- 3.00
Fabric-Tac-  Had on hand
Flower-  Had on hand
Tulle- Had on hand
Embellishments- Had on hand
I began wrapping the wreath with the yarn
I used the Fabri-Tac every 10-15 wraps
wrapping tightly
Once I was done wrapping I felt so accomplished... but didn't know what to add.
I thought I am known as the flower lady... add flowers : )
I used sparkly blue tulle and a red flower but something was missing.
So I took a part a white flower, but I still needed some Yellow...
for our troops <3.  I was all out of yellow ribbon (gasp), so I used a yellow t-shirt rosette for the center.

My first wrapped wreath......

I'm hooked there will be more to come...

  1. Oh wow that is beautiful. Now, I am going to have to try one. Did you know that the Dollar Tree sells the wood wreath frames for only $1? They offer different sizes and some of them even sell yarn as well. Not sure if you all have one of those where you're at but it'll help to save a few $ on the next one.

  2. This is wonderful!!! I love the flower and that yarn. I need that yarn. Love, love!!!
    following you now

  3. YUMMommy,
Thank you! I had no idea Dollar Tree had wreaths or yarn. I always forget about our Dollar Tree it is kinda out of the way, in a bad location. I will mosdef have to check it out. I am sure the kiddos won't mind a visit there... soo much to look at.
    {note to self: make sure to bring stroller for the boy : )}

  4. La-Dee-da Crafter,
Thank you : ) I saw the yarn and had to have it so I picked it up, and there I was in Hobby Lobby planning a new project-- I never thought I would do. There is so much yarn left yay! Thank you for following my blog, I'm following yours too : )

  5. What an adorable wreath! I've really gotten into wreath making myself lately and always appreciate one that turns out really well, since mine don't always turn out the way I'd like. You did such a good job. Thanks for sharing
