Here goes nothing....

I’m showing you my revamped fridge & sharing a secret. For the past five or so years I have changed things up I have been almost 100% dairy-free, no can foods, no food dyes, and believe it or not Mickey D’s-free, I kind of cut down carbs and then said the hell with it.  I’ve been trying to be healthier for quite sometime, but every now and then I fall to the dark side {the hell with it attitude with carbs and me, which isn't good for my little issue}.

Last year my family implemented 2-3 vegetarian meals a week. The kids have been great about this. But now we’re cutting out a little more of our diet.
Deep breath
We’re trying to go Paleo!  Some people call the paleo lifestyle the caveman diet, meaning eating what is true to nature.  With Paleo you try not to consume processed foods, no dairy, no grains, soy, and legumes.  I know it sounds hard maybe even crazy but my family and I are giving it a try.

I watched some TED videos my husband found online and they were quite insightful as to what we are truly putting in our bodies & our children’s bodies.  I would COMPLETELY LOVE for you to PLEASE watch them. You’ll be surprised to learn about our corn & milk supply/consumption in America.  Sad.  Just when you think the EPA is on your side

I’m going to let you in on something else. and this is HUGE for me. I don’t share this with many people--it’s something personal I’ve been dealing with privately but we’re all friends here.
I suffer from PCOS polycystic ovarian syndrome this is a hormonal imbalance that pretty much is some jacked up shizz I hate it!  I was diagnosed 1 year after my 2nd daughter was born- my Doctor checked me for everything including ovarian cancer.  My symptoms concerned her to the point she thought I had cancer!

She prescribed me birth control pills to aid against my stinky poly pockets {term of endearment for my polycystic ovaries} and for my hormones.  I didn’t want to take the pill but I wanted to change.  I was horrible at taking the pill & well you all know I have 3 kiddos, so yeah I stopped the pill.  It was such a surprise to get pregnant after hearing my daughters were miracles because most women with PCOS don’t have an easy time getting pregnant.

Years have passed since I was first diagnosed, I’ve switched docs & both docs have said use the pill.  I’m not into that. I don’t want to take something forever.  I decided to change my diet and saw an improvement but not enough.  Why?  Well carbs my favorite are also my enemy.  So I’m hoping this Paleo change will help.

I’m not sure I’ll ever convert 100% Paleo (I still may enjoy a slice of birthday cake & treat now and then)  but I’m going to at least give it my all to live an even more natural than I already do.
And please don’t think I’m judging you because I’ve made adjustments in my life I don’t.  However I do want to share my journey and my knowledge in a non-pushy & non-judgmental way.   Peace & Love Always!
