A bloggy celebration, Veronica Mars and Giveaways!

Blogging is labor of love.  You don't get paid much… well at least I don't, but the rewards come in sweet comments and caring friendships.
I've said it here before and I'll say it here again
One of my bloggy friends, Heather, from The Frill of Life is celebrating her 1 year blog anniversary and to help her celebrate there's a GIVEAWAY!

Happy Blog Anniversary Heather!
Keep blogging!
XOXO

I thought this would be a fun giveaway for some Veronica Mars Fans - or someone just interested in having a fun night out.  Have you heard of Veronica Mars (created by Screenwriter Rob Thomas)?    The series started in 2004 and ended on The CW in 2007 - lasting a total of 3 seasons .  It was a series about Veronica Mars (Kristen Bell) - a high school turned college student moonlighting as a Private Investigator.
Following the cancellation of the series, Screen Writer Rob Thomas wrote a script to continue the series on the big screen.  Warner Bros. opted not to fund the project - so in 2013, Thomas and Bell took the idea to Kickstarter.  They raised $5.7 million through Kickstarter  and started production in June 2013.  The movie just released on Friday March 14, 2014 in 291 theaters nationwide and earned an estimated $1 Million.
  Check out the Movie Trailer
      How much do you know about Veronica Mars?  You can visit the Veronica Mars Movie Website here and then take this very fun Veronica Mars Quiz!
    In celebration of the movie, I am giving away a copy of the Veronica Mars DVD - estimated to be released in May of 2014.  Enter below for your chance to reserve your own copy! Make sure to tell me the quiz results for gain additional giveaway entries!  Open to US/CAN residents.
.     Have you seen the Veronica Mars series? What are your 3 favorite episodes? Check out Screenwriter, Rob Thomas's favorite episodes.

A Few Things...

Okay, I've been a slacker pants as of late…
I've been busy trying to figure out where exactly home is.
Lately it feels as though my family and I live in our truck…
The five of us have been city-to-city looking for a place to call home, as well as a bit of sight seeing :)

{I have tons of beautiful pictures to share-- I just have to find… TIME!}

All this means….. I'm behind on all things blog!
I'm behind on emails, comments, commenting, linking up, and I still have to get things together for Sorry, Not Sorry Social… we're back on.

Please forgive me….

There are a few things blog I'd like to share

Okay, first off I have had the privilege of working with Tots to Teens for a few years…. this week we published our final issue.  Please take a look at  Tots to Teens Magazine's final Holiday Gift Guide

I'm excited about a new linkup some of my bloggy friends started and I cannot wait to linkup each week.  Unfortunately.. because of my crazy week… I didn't this week. {BOO!}

The Patchwork Paisley

Tunesday Tuesday is a linky hosted by The Patchwork Paisley, MrsTeeLoveLifeLaughter, Mommy Candy, and Drinking the Whole Bottle…. they pick the Theme you pick your Song.
I cannot wait to be a regular at this linky! This week the Theme was "Your Anthem," next week's theme will be...
A song that suits your current mood.

I recently had the pleasure of helping the #TruckLoadOfLove

The Vanilla Housewife recently took donations to help out in the Philippines, I'm so happy I was able to help in a small way.  Go check out her post, she has pictures of her aiding those in need.  I just love Jhanis!!

So, the Mommy Monday Blog Hop is still live if you'd like to linkup we'd love to have you!  Also, this is the second week for our new host {one of my #BBFs} MrsTee!!!

My sweet friend Abby, from Always, Abby shared some bloglove; I was one of her picks for the month of November ;)  I'm touched that she thought of scatterbrain me!  I've been a hot-mess of a blogger lately.  Thank you Abby!!

I know there's so much more to share but here are just a few bloggy things.

Help...please. {A truckload of Love}

Through the blog world, I have been so very grateful to 'meet' wonderful, friendly, hilarious, and even inspiring people.  One person, I have had the extreme pleasure to connect with is Jhanis.

Jhanis, is one of the best bloggers in all of blog-land!
She has a way of telling a story, that hooks you in every time and she has stick-figure-drawings to boot!
I have a card from Jhanis that I absolutely adore-- one because it's homemade, two it shows her personality, and lastly it's a sign that the person I've built a friendship with on the other end is real...

Because my friendship is real... and life is real... things happen....
Jhanis is from the Philippines, and as you may know the Philippines was hit with a devasting super typhoon.   My sweet friend Jhanis and her family are safe-thankfully. Being the sweet, loving, wonderful woman she is; Jhanis is trying to help aid those in need.  Jhanis along with a co-worker will be traveling to the grief stricken island of Bantayan, with a truckload of relief goods.

However... Jhanis along with her colleague cannot do it alone-- they are accepting donations.
If you can help that would be AWESOME! Please learn more about the Truckload of Love here.

#AskAwayFriday {Questions by @MommyA_Z}

http://rhocc.blogspot.com
Okay, so seriously are we already half way through November?  I can't deal anymore, time is flying way too fast for me.  Is everyone planning out Thanksgiving meals and doing their 30 Days of Thankful? I literally almost just skipped Thanksgiving yesterday and went straight into putting up the Christmas tree!
http://rhocc.blogspot.com
For those of you who aren't familiar with #AskAwayFriday it's an amazing way to meet new bloggers, make friends and ask some questions to get to know them better!  10 questions are exchanged and answered on your partners blog, you can get as creative as you want and even get into our purses!

As always, tried and true we have the partners in crime, the ladies who created #AskAwayFriday...the wonderful Penny from The Real Housewife of Caroline County and Amber from Bold Fab Mom!!

The Real Housewife of Caroline County

Our co-hosts for the month of November are amazing so check them out!

Dean aka Mrs_AOK is pretty freaking amazing!  She's been apart of #AskAwayFriday as long as it's been around I believe, which is pretty impressive!  She's become a great friend to me and the other ladies involved in #AskAwayFriday each week and I'm super excited she's moving to the East Coast!

Next up is the wonderful Ophelia from LatinaMamaRama, we've really enjoyed her joining in on #AskAwayFriday, she always has some really insightful and beautiful things to say!

And last, but certainly not least is Sarah from Lomholt's Family...she's a really great gal from Iowa and I really enjoy our little chats, she's become a good friend and a friendly face each week on #AskAwayFriday!  She's always up for exchanging with anyone and so friendly!

Okay, now that we've met everyone I'm going to add in a shameless plug on behalf of Penny & Mrs_AOK.  If you haven't already sign up and join into the Holiday Nail Polish Swap & Giveaway!  There are some awesome prizes and you get to exchange a polish with another blogger and build on friendships...use hashtag #HolidayColorSwap!  The giveaway will be running from November 23rd to December 1st so remember to enter!

Now that we've got all the business out of the way, let's get into Week 15 of #AskAwayFriday!

*************

This week I have the absolute good fortune to swap Q&A's with Gracielle from Mommy A-Z.
If you don't know this sweet lady yet, please go check out her about page {trust me it's one of the best abouts ever!} and make sure you follow her on Twitter.

I 'met' Gracielle via Twitter-- I believe through the #SITSSharefest, which is where I've 'met' many of my bloggy friends :) #SITSstahs

Now onto the Q&A

1. You're moving away from Chicagoland?! Bummer that I just figured this out and we haven't met.  What are you going to miss most about the Windy City?
Oh dear... there's plenty to miss...
Going down to Chicago is a treat, in retrospect... one that I believe we didn't take advantage of enough. I live in the Western Burbs-- and the commute to Chi-Town is a pain in the a**.
However I love the feeling... not the smell.. but the feeling of being downtown.
The sea of diverse culture, the people, the beautiful buildings, the lights, even the sounds; every time we visit downtown, I second guess our move to the burbs.... and then I watch the news..

2.  You're on your way to South Carolina, but if you could move anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
This is a tough one, but I'm still in love with Austin, Texas!

I love the Indie Charm, good food, and my parents, siblings, and a few of my friends still live in Texas.

3.  You are definitely the hostess with the most-ess when it comes to linky parties!  Did you host lots of parties in your home? If so, got any hosting tips?
Aww well thank you :)
Surprisingly-- I haven't held many parties here in my home. However, I did have a few get-togethers usually for the kiddos...
My hosting tips:
* Have fun
* Plan ahead {have things ready before the party}
* Hit-up the Dollar Tree!
* Keep guest... okay... kiddos busy with interactive tasks.

  Such as make your own pizza, decorate your own cupcakes, make a place mat or make your own play dough... those types of things. I shared a party here...

4.  What are 3 things you would be devastated if you forgot to pack and bring with you?
Thankfully, we have movers! If the movers lost my family pictures, photo albums, or scrapbook or my computer which holds tons of family memories-- there would be HELL TO PAY!
However, we are road tripping to South Carolina- only taking what we need right away when we get there! I know, crazy but we love our smushy-face furbaby, so we have decided to drive to our new home.
If I forgot to pack my iPad, iPhone, or a couple framed photos I would be sad :(

5.  What's the #1 thing on your Christmas wish list this year?
Should I go pageant-style?
Of course, I always wish for world peace and no more violence... {No really I do.. I've blogged about it}
However, I'm just hoping for a nice Christmas for the kiddos.
This will be their first Christmas in a new place, we'll be living in corporate housing without all our belongings, and special Christmas trinkets...

I just want to make this year special for them...

6.  Was it easy or hard to go from 2 to 3 kids in the family?  (going from 1 to 2 kids was HARD, but I've heard mixed reviews from people who have 3 kids)
Hmm...
I think for my situation it was easy at first.  The girls would spend time playing peacefully, and helping me.
Now, that the kids are getting older, sometimes it seems a bit harder; only because I want to give all three of them attention.

Oh and more thing... when three kiddos get together, and as much as they can love and be kind to one another; the fighting.... ack! I could do without all the fighting!!

7.  What's one piece of advice for blog success?
Yikes, I still don't know if I would consider myself blog-success-advice-worthy...
I think for me it's building bonds and making sure to nourish those bonds.
* Bonus advice from a not-so-big-time-blogger:Be YOU! Authentic you... no need to change up who you are for the sake of your blog...

8.  What keeps YOU motivated to continue blogging?
This blog is powered by love from my friends, readers, and supporters.  I keep this blog going for them + the sanity I get here... it's my place to store the randoms in my head :)

9.   I know you're a #PSLGangsta, but what is your favorite holiday Starbucks beverage?
Well... as of late I've become a #RedCupGangsta :)

I love a good soy Caramel Bruelee Latte!
Also, Starbucks has a Thanksgiving blend-- that I've been brewing here at home and I LOVE IT!!

10.  Does your family have any Thanksgiving traditions?

Of course... FOOTBALL and binge eating!
Well that's all folks!! Thank you all for checking out another fun installment of #AskAwayFriday! Special thank you to Gracielle for swapping with me-- please check our her answers here.
Also please check out all the lovely bloggers who linked up this week below
